Overview

FinderDock ("the App") is a file management tool designed for macOS that is committed to protecting user privacy and data security. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.

Information Collection

The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information or user data to external servers. Specifically:

• Folder Shortcuts: Folder shortcuts you add to the left panel are stored only on your local device
• Recent Files: The recent files list displayed in the right panel is obtained through macOS system APIs (NSMetadataQuery). This information comes from your system and is not uploaded or shared by the App
• User Preferences: All app settings and configurations are saved only in your Mac's local storage
• File Access Permissions: The App uses Apple's Security-Scoped Bookmarks technology to remember folders you've authorized for access. These bookmark data are stored entirely locally

Data Usage

The App accesses and uses data solely to provide core functionality:

• Display your selected folder shortcuts
• Show your recently opened files list
• Provide drag-and-drop operations
• Enable quick file access and management

The App does not analyze, process, or otherwise use the content of your files in any way.

Data Storage

• All app data is stored locally on your Mac in standard app sandbox directories
• Data is protected by macOS system security mechanisms
• The App does not use any cloud storage services
• Uninstalling the App will automatically delete all locally stored app data

Data Sharing

The App does not share, sell, or transmit any of your information to third parties, including but not limited to:

• File and folder information
• Usage habits and preferences
• Any personally identifiable information

Network Connectivity

The App does not require and does not use any network connectivity. The App runs entirely locally and does not:

• Connect to the internet
• Send any data to external servers
• Use any analytics or tracking services

Permissions

The App requires the following macOS permissions to provide functionality:

• Files and Folders Access: To read content from folders you explicitly authorize and recent files information
• Accessibility (if needed): To implement global hotkey functionality

All permissions require your explicit authorization, and you can revoke these permissions at any time in macOS System Settings.

Children's Privacy

The App is not specifically targeted at children under 13 years of age, nor does it knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated to users through app update notes.
